Albert's family originated from Baden-Baden, Germany. Albert supposedly studied for the ministry at Heidelberg, Germany but ended up in the military serving in the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871). August Byzewski and Jacob Czapiewski also served in that war.
After the war Albert lived in Poland or at that time West Prussia. Based on his last will and testament, Albert still owned land in Poland when he died.
Adelaide Teske and Otelia Teske were sisters and born to Albert Teske and one of his three wives.

1. Otelia Teszke, was born between September 1864 - 1865 in Brusy Parish, Poland. She married Leon Trzebiatowski October 09, 1885 in Czapiewicz, Brusy Parish, Poland; Leon was born August 19, 1860 in Borzyszkowy, Poland; died October 18, 1954 in Warsaw, Walsh, North Dakota, USA. Otelia died June 06, 1945 in Warsaw, Walsh, North Dakota. Leon and Otelia immigrated: 1888 from Poland.
2. Adelaide (Delia) Teske, born December 16, 1874 in Poland; died December 05, 1948 in Stustman County, ND. She married (1) Tibatowski sometime before 1896. She married (2) Adalbert 'George' Wosick 1906 in Walsh County, ND; born April 23, 1849 in Poznan, Poland; died June 08, 1922.
Otelia Teske and Leon Trzebiatowski were married in Czapiewicz, Brusy Parish, Poland, and Leon was born in Borzyszkowy Parish, Poland. So it would be a good guess that Albert Teske was from one of these two Parishes. I have found the following marriage records which may be Albert.

Albert then married (2) Julia A. Janikowski in 1883 in Poland. Julianna was a widower herself and was born May 06, 1863 in Germany (Poland), and died November 10, 1941 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. On the 1900 Census a stepson Joseph is listed under the name Sominski, living with Albert and Julia, so I believe this is from Julia’s first marriage. Joseph Sominski later moved to Montana which was the next stop for many Kaszubian Poles who wanted to farm in the 1910-1920 timeframe. Albert and Julia immigrated to the United States in about 1892; Otelia had come earlier in 1888 with her husband and family.
Albert came late to Walsh County, but there was also an Elias and Stuart Tesky who were in Walsh County early based on land records and Naturalization records. Albert may have lived in South Dakota based one child’s birth information.

There were other Teske families living in Winona. Carl Teske who immigrated in 1881 and Charles Teske who immigrated 1877.

I have much more information on Albert, his 3 wives and all of his children. He was my great great grandfather. He had 3 daughters with his first wife, Angeline. Otelia, Amanda, and Helena (my great grandmother). Adelaide and her brother Magnus (Michael) were born to Albert and his second wife. He and Julianna had 11 children.
